I am asked at least twice a day whether or not there is employment opportunities where I work, but when I ask the question back; "what are you looking for?", the response, "just a job," is not the answer that sways me to want to assist. Although the poor economy has had a devastating impact on roughly 12 million, as noted by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, this is not the time for those seeking work to forego pursuing employment in a career they have spent time and money in preparation
Now more than ever it is important for those seeking employment to maintain a focused approach on pursuing a career and not just a "job." This is easier said than done for those trying to maintain a mortgage, a car note, or a child's education, but the benefit of staying focused will have a long lasting impact once the job market opens again.
Staying focused during this period does however require that you think outside of the box to think of opportunities that compliment your skills so that your career path does not take huge explainable unecessary detours. Take the time to truly review your myriad of skills and seek opportunities that keep you on track to achieve your career goals even during this difficult period.
